Green Business School Successfully Organizes Seminar on "Reflection on Bangladesh National Budget FY2026–27"

Green Business School (GBS), Green University of Bangladesh (GUB), successfully organized a seminar titled "Reflection on Bangladesh National Budget FY2026–27" on 7 July 2026 at 11:00 AM in Room A-302 (Conference Room). The seminar provided an intellectually engaging platform for students and faculty members to critically examine the proposed National Budget FY2026–27 through research, policy analysis, presentations, and interactive discussions. The event enabled BBA students to connect classroom learning with national economic priorities by exploring key issues such as fiscal policy, sectoral allocations, investment, inflation, education, healthcare, agriculture, and sustainable development.

The program was graced by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Honorable Vice Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest. In his keynote address, he emphasized the importance of quality education, research, human capital development, good governance, and effective policy implementation in achieving sustainable national development. The seminar was also honored by the presence of Dr. Fahmida Khatun, Executive Director of the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), as the Guest of Honor. In her insightful presentation, she discussed major macroeconomic challenges facing Bangladesh, including inflationary pressures, global economic uncertainties, banking sector reforms, and the need for sound fiscal management.

Adding further academic value to the event, Prof. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, PhD, SFHEA, Director of the Learning and Teaching Innovation Centre (LTIC), BRAC University, attended as the Special Guest. His remarks highlighted the role of technology, innovation, and higher education in building a future-ready Bangladesh. The seminar was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz, Dean and Director of the MBA Program, Green Business School, whose leadership and guidance contributed significantly to the successful organization of the event.

A major highlight of the seminar was the research-based presentation session by BBA students. The participants presented analytical studies on various aspects of the National Budget FY2026–27, including the overall budget framework, revenue generation, the Annual Development Programme (ADP), income tax reforms, sector-wise budget allocations, inflation, investment, remittances, foreign exchange reserves, education, healthcare, agriculture, and comparative budget analysis. Their presentations reflected strong analytical skills, policy awareness, and academic excellence.

The seminar concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, followed by the distribution of certificates to participating students. The event ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Mohammad Delwar Hussain, Chairperson, Department of Business Administration, Green University of Bangladesh, who expressed his appreciation to the distinguished guests, faculty members, students, and organizers for making the seminar a success.

The seminar reaffirmed Green Business School's commitment to fostering analytical thinking, evidence-based learning, and meaningful engagement with contemporary national economic issues through academic dialogue and research.
