Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (CETL), Green University of Bangladesh, successfully organized a distinguished academic session titled- โ€œ๐€๐ˆ ๐ข๐ง ๐‡๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ž๐ซ ๐„๐๐ฎ๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง: ๐“๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ฌ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐‹๐จ๐œ๐š๐ฅ ๐ญ๐จ ๐†๐ฅ๐จ๐›๐š๐ฅ ๐Œ๐ข๐ง๐๐ฌ๐ž๐ญโ€ on Monday, 22 December 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, at Seminar Hall 302, Green University of Bangladesh.The session featured the esteemed keynote speaker, Prof. Osama Khan, Vice Chancellorโ€“Designate of the University of South Wales, United Kingdom. Prof. Khan, an accomplished academic leader of Bangladeshi heritage, has held influential leadership roles across several internationally renowned universities, and his forthcoming appointment marks a significant milestone in global higher education leadership.The program was conducted under the auspices of CETL as part of the Annual Faculty Development Program of Green University of Bangladesh. In this regard, a total of 82 faculty members attended the session, reflecting strong institutional engagement and interest in the theme.The event was honored by the gracious presence of Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Vice Chancellor, Green University of Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Pro Vice Chancellor, Green University of Bangladesh, was also present and extended his support to the initiative. The presence of the honorable Registrar, Controller of Examinations, respected Deans of various faculties, and Chairpersons of academic departments further enriched the academic and administrative significance of the session.Following the formal addressing on behalf of CETL, the session formally commenced with a welcome note delivered by Prof. Dr. ASM Shihavuddin, Director, Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (CETL), Green University of Bangladesh. In his address, he warmly welcomed the distinguished guests, university administrators, deans, chairpersons, and faculty members, highlighted the growing significance of artificial intelligence in reshaping higher education, and reaffirmed CETLโ€™s commitment to fostering innovative, research-informed, and globally aligned teaching and learning practices.Subsequently, the keynote address was delivered by Prof. Osama Khan, who presented an insightful and thought-provoking discourse on how artificial intelligence is reshaping institutional assessment, teaching and learning practices, leadership decision-making, and global academic competitiveness. His presentation effectively bridged global perspectives with local institutional contexts.The keynote session was followed by an interactive Question and Answer segment, during which faculty members actively engaged with the speaker through thoughtful questions, reflections, and discussions on the contextual application of AI in Bangladeshi higher education.As part of the formal proceedings, CETL, Green University of Bangladesh, honored Prof. Osama Khan with a commemorative crest and a sash of honor in recognition of his outstanding contributions to higher education leadership, academic innovation, and distinguished service across internationally reputed institutions. This gesture underscored the universityโ€™s respect for global academic excellence and its appreciation of Prof. Khanโ€™s scholarly and leadership achievements.The program concluded with closing reflections delivered by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Vice Chancellor, and Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Pro Vice Chancellor, Green University of Bangladesh. In their remarks, they emphasized the strategic importance of research-informed and technology-enabled teaching practices, highlighted the relevance of artificial intelligence in advancing academic quality and institutional effectiveness, and reiterated the continued role of CETL in fostering faculty development and pedagogical excellence.
