Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) was honored to host a distinguished delegation from the University Grants Commission (UGC) on 19 April, as part of the approval process for the proposed MA programs in Literatures in English and Cultural Studies and English Language Teaching (ELT).
The visiting team included Prof. Ahmed Bashir, University of Dhaka, and Mr. Moazzem Hossain Sarker, Senior Assistant Director, Private University Management Division, UGC. The delegation was cordially received with flowers upon arrival.
The visit commenced with a comprehensive presentation by Ms. Raisa Nuzhat, Lecturer, Department of English, who highlighted the overall academic environment and institutional strengths of Green University of Bangladesh. This was followed by an insightful presentation by Mr. M. Ashiqur Rahaman Sourav, Lecturer, Department of English and Assistant Proctor, Green University of Bangladesh, who elaborated on the proposed MA program and provided an overview of the Department of English.
The session was attended by the Honorable Vice Chancellor of GUB, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin; Honorable Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed; Honorable Treasurer, Prof. Dr. Fayzur Rahman; Honorable Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), Prof. Dr. M. Shahidullah; Honorable Registrar, Captain (Navy) Shaikh Mohammad Salahuddin; Mr. Saiful Islam; Honorable Joint Registrar; Honorable Chairperson of the Department of English, Dr. Md. Shamim Mondol; Dr. Serajum Munira, Director of CLCS and CCD; Dr. Elham Hossain, Associate Professor, Department of English and Director of GCiA; Mr. Mohammad Golam Mohiuddin, Assistant Professor, Department of English and Assistant Director of GCiA, along with all 31 faculty members of the Department of English.
The session was conducted in a highly professional and cordial atmosphere, reflecting GUB’s commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance in higher education.
