NOTICE

This is to notify all students of the University that make-up midterm and make-up final exam will be held according to the following guidelines:

Repeating/Retaking Courses: There will be no provision for Improvement Exams for either midterm/final exam. The student will have to re-register for the course as a new course by paying the full tuition fee within next 02 trimesters to improve the grade, only if his/her grade is B- or less.

If a student gets an ‘F’ grade in any course, s/he will have to retake the course in a subsequent trimester by re-registering the course and paying full tuition fees. A course in which a student gets an ‘F’ grade may be retaken as many times as needed to get a minimum passing grade within the time allowed for graduation. Of course, an ‘F’ grade in a prerequisite course must be improved before s/he takes its advanced course. A course may be retaken in a trimester only if the course is offered in that trimester. The course repeated/retaken must carry the same course code, course title, and course contents.

The student retaking the course must attend the classes, take all the exams and do other tasks for the course as other students do in the same course. Under all circumstances, the higher grade will be taken into account toward calculating the final CGPA and the lower grade will not be shown in the transcript. A student taking the advantage of retake policy will not be eligible for receiving Gold Medal or Award.

Make-up of Mid-term and Final Exam: If a student could not appear in the midterm/final exam of any course, s/he can take make-up midterm/final exam of that course by paying Tk. 1,500/- for midterm and Tk. 2,500/- for final exam. The student will have to discuss with the course teacher, apply in the prescribed form showing valid reasons for not being able to sit for the exam and submit it to the concerned Department for approval. It will be forwarded to the Controller of Examinations for necessary action. It is to mention that the make-up midterm exam must be held before the final exam of the same trimester. And the make-up final exam will be held within 02 weeks from the date of publication of the trimester result. It is to be noted that if a student cannot appear in the make-up mid-term exam, s/he will get ‘zero’ in that exam and if a student can not appear in the make-up final exam, s/he will get an ‘F’ grade in that course.
