GUB – an introduction from the Vice-Chancellor
Established in the year 2002, the Green University has now developed into a global education center of excellence in the arena of Higher Education. The University is now offering graduate and post-graduate courses under the Department of Business Studies, Science & Engineering, Arts & Social Sciences, Law, Textile Technology and Bank Management in keeping with the needs of the ever growing economy.
Green University is a unique place for education. Located at the heart of Dhaka city and set in a beautiful parkland, it combines green fields of the Assembly House with very busy market places and trade centers. Studying in a friendly collegiate atmosphere, students can feel at home and have a sense of being known.
Green University offers the perfect mix of academic excellence, a top reputation for research, flexible study, a supportive environment, two good locations, great employment prospects and a brilliant social life. The Green University strives to offer the highest quality of campus-based undergraduate and postgraduate education in a broad range of fields. We place a high value on learning, and we support our beliefs with student-centered learning using the best resources.
Our programs and services are driven by the needs of our community and economy. This year we have expanded our campus and we revised our undergraduate and graduate programs to offer degrees in the important areas such as Social Sciences, Textile technology and Bank Management.
The university as a matter of policy keeps on reviewing its syllabuses. This is done with an aim to update our students with the contemporary issues related to their respective areas of studies. We believe in quality education and it provides us a very motivating feedback: The University, through different phases, has made tremendous progress, but the university's brightest days still lie ahead. Very recently, we have taken ambitious steps to further develop and uplift this university. One such step is to streamline the semester schedule. Another is enrichment of laboratories and libraries. And, most important, we are going to link it with universities of other countries. Through this innovative partnership program, students of foreign universities will be taught through videoconferencing. This, in fact, is an attempt to create an atmosphere of mutual understanding among different cultures and countries and to make this world healthier, safer and more tolerant. International Conferences and Seminars will be held on regular basis.
My vision as the Vice-Chancellor is to create a healthy academic atmosphere and to develop it as a centre of excellence and as a centre of creation and dissemination of knowledge.

The Governing Council’s purpose is to receive, hold, invest, manage, use, dispose of and administer property of all kinds, whether given absolutely or in trust to benefit the University in all educational purposes and support activities that may be conducted by the University. The Foundation has been designated to be the official fundraising organization of the University.
Green University of Bangladesh is a one of the outstanding center of excellence for higher education in Bangladesh. It engages minds through creative, rigorous and interdisciplinary approaches to teaching and scholarship that encourage lifelong learning and prepare graduates who will communicate effectively, think critically and creatively, apply technology, act responsibly and effect positive change. GUB is connected with the Local and Foreign Educational Institutions to providing seamless educational pathways for students seeking a baccalaureate education.
The mission of Green University is to nurture and develop the talents and potentials of students and to find out applicable knowledge in order to support social and economic advancement. The faculty of Business Studies monitors industry trends and continuously reviews the curricula to provide students with the right mix of international experience, work projects, internships as well as community service to form a sound basic foundation for students through hands-on experience. The Faculty of Science provides a range of programs designed to expose students to Textile Technology, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, object-oriented programming, information systems for businesses, software development and digital multimedia. Student can choose to specialize in computer graphics, human-computer interaction and advanced programming with the aim of successfully fitting software to a specified application.
The faculty of Human Affairs and Social Sciences in another well-equipped finest like faculty where learners can understand the social perspective of humanities as well as law, economics and social systems.
