Q. When was the university founded?

Ans. Green University of Bangladesh (GUB), one of the leading private universities in Bangladesh, was founded in 2003 under the Private University Act 1992 with a vision to create a global higher education center of excellence.

Q. Do I have to sit for an admission test? 

Ans. Yes, applicants have to qualify in Admission Test which includes written exam as well as interview.

Note:  Students with a GPA of at least 4.0 or a combined score of at least 8.0 in the SSC and HSC or equivalent examinations, they are exempted from the written part of the Admission Test but may still be interviewed. 


Q. What are the subject areas of admission test?

Ans. The admission test covers subject areas like English Language, mathematics and logical reasoning. The Admission Test has two parts:

 

Part 1: Written Test: contains multiple-choice questions covering English language, mathematics, and logical reasoning.
Part 2: Interview

 

Q. Is there any financial aid available for the spouse/siblings/female students?

Q. Do you accept Credit Transfer? If yes, what is the procedure?

Ans. Yes, we accept credit transfer. The students willing to transfer credits from other accredited institutions to GUB must fulfill the general admission requirements for the specific program. The student must write an application for credit transfer to the Registrar of GUB along with the Official Academic Transcripts issued by the previous institutions and an NOC (no objection certificate).

 

Students willing to transfer credits from GUB to other institutions in Bangladesh or abroad must write an application to the Registrar of GUB along with the papers issued by the institution where s/he is willing to study. The student may again come back and study at GUB. S/he can also attend classes in a trimester but s/he has to register for courses as special or non-degree student.


Q. I am a service holder but interested to get a professional degree for career growth, is it possible?

Ans. Yes, Green University of Bangladesh offers some of the most demanding job oriented courses in the evening (MBA, EMBA, MBM etc.). Thus, a service holder may also study here.

 
Q. How many students have graduated from GUB?

Ans. So far around 600 students (585 in the 1st Convocation) have passed from Green University of Bangladesh and most of them are employed in local and multinational companies while some are pursuing higher study abroad.

 

Q. Whether the university has any international collaboration/credit transfer facilities? 
Ans. Yes, GUB signed a collaboration exchange program with the University of Regina, Canada for both teachers and students in 2011. Many more collaboration efforts are under process. Under the exchange programs, the students of GUB can transfer their credits to foreign universities, faculties can exchange research works and share experiences, and curricula can be developed.

Ans. The departments of Business Administration, English, Sociology and Anthropology, FTDM are located at 220/D Begum Rokeya Sarani, Dhaka-1207 and the location of the departments of CSE, Textile and EEE are at the Blessing Tower, Plot no: C-11, Road no: 1/1, Block no: KA, Section no: 6, Mirpur-2, Dhaka-1216.

Ans. The management of Green University of Bangladesh is well aware to create a pleasant educational environment in the campus. Ans. Yes, GUB has diverse modern laboratories and associated facilities to support GUB students studying in different departments.

 

Q. Is there transport facilities available for students? 

Ans. Yes, GUB provides transport facilities for students in Dhaka City. GUB buses usually ply the following routes in Dhaka City:

Route 01: Motijheel (Shapla Chattar)- Panltan- Mowchak- Rampura- Kawranbazar- Farmgate- GUB

Route 02: Tongi- Uttara- Bashundhra- Notunbazar- Gulshan- Banani- Mohakhali- GUB

Route 03: Azimpur- Dhanmondi- Mohammadpur- Shamoly- GUB

 

Q. Whether residential facilities available for the students?
Ans.

Q. Whether safety resources exist in the university?
Ans.  Yes, the university has required safety measures for emergency. University has own physician for its students, teachers and staffs.

 

Q. How can parents and family members of current students stay informed?
Ans.  The university is going to launch an automated database system/ University Automated Management System to provide information regarding the academic performance and other activities about a student and as well as the university.

 

Q. Whether the university provides extra-curricular facilities for recreation?
Ans.
 Yes, the university organizes various cultural programs and fashion shows on different occasions, participate in various indoor and outdoor sports competition. Beside these, each department organizes daylong Annual Picnic program.
